In Chimera World, C. Cummings explores the myriad ways that beings, environments, and categories combine to produce counter-normativity and difference; from Precambrian prokaryotic cells to Punks and everything in between. Chimera World is a place where the skin or membrane around a being is not a barrier but an interface. Where, instead of precise distinctions, we get Venn-couplings, cut-ups, cross-dissolves, and multi-scaled nested comminglings. Notions of identity and individuality lose their meaning.

Published in conjunction with a talk given in NYC for the nonprofit Nonhuman Teachers, this book is rife with illustrations, a meandering index to take you further down the rabbit hole, and an epilogue by living chimera Erik “The Lizardman” Sprague.
